Call for Instructors
Interested in sharing your artistic knowledge?
Bartow Art Guild is seeking instructors to lead workshops, multi-session classes, and lectures at our newly renovated Art Center. We are currently seeking instructors for adult classes in 2023-24. Sessions may be held during the day or in the evening, depending on classroom availability.
Bartow Art Guild will:
Market the monthly workshop schedule via website, social media, and newsletters (we do expect the instructor to self-market)
Provide an online portal for students to register and pay for your workshop
Communicate your requirements (i.e. materials needed, if any) to prospective students
Provide work tables and seating for up to 8 students
Add a nominal fee to your workshop charge to cover overhead expenses
Handle any cancellations or other changes
Pay you via check at the conclusion of your class
In return, we expect instructors to:
Teach an artistic technique, skill, or project that is well within your knowledge base.
Treat the Art Center with care, clean up after your class, and leave the center in “ready” condition for the next event
Complete a W2 prior to payment.
Properly dispose of paint or other materials.
Treat all students fairly and with dignity
Possible topics (not an exhaustive list):
Drawing with pencil, charcoal, pastels, etc.
Silk painting, batik, calligraphy, printmaking
Sculpting or hand-building with Polymer clay
Beadwork, leatherwork, basketry
Painting with watercolor, acrylic, goache, etc.
Weaving, spinning with a drop spindle, embroidery, needlepoint, crewel
Poured acrylic, glass etching
Journaling, poetry
Subject matter focus: portraits, landscapes, still life, Plein Air, etc.
