Betty D. Hill, 81, died Friday, November 11, 2011 of heart failure.
Betty, born in Bartow and raised in Ft. Meade, FL, was a fifth generation Polk Countian. She retired in 1991 after 37 years of employment by Polk County, with 32 years of service in the Marriage License and Passport Office.
Betty, an accomplished watercolorist, was a founding and lifetime member of the PWAA, and had served as the Bartow Art Guild's president, treasurer and historian.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Wayne Hill; son David Hill, wife Tina; daughter Leah Snell, husband Wayne; sister Peggy Lindeke; grandchildren Jodi Snell, Chris Snell, wife Tracy; and great granddaughter Paisley Snell.
